With the slogan “Find the Brighter Future in Asia!”, the
Conference on Economic Cooperation between Korean and Asian local government
2015 was opened on the morning of September 17, 2015 at Changwon Exhibition Convention
Center, Gyeongnam Province, Korea.
The conference
attracted the participation of over 300 delegates who are scientists, public
officials, businesses, and experts coming from 16 cities in 7 countries
including Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and India.
On behalf of the 16
cities, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Lan, Director of Dong Nai Province Department of
Foreign Affairs, Head of Dong Nai delegation had a welcoming speech at the
Conference. The speech brings the message of carries key messages for the
continued cooperation and development between Korea and the Asian governments.

After the Opening
Ceremony, delegates participated in the Economic Cooperation Forum. At the sessions,
the speakers presented the high practical issues that the world and the region have
been interested in such as "Global value chains and cooperating direction between
local governments in Asia", "Best practices of economic cooperation
and exchanges between Korean and Asian local governments", "Activation
Plan for economic cooperation and exchanges in the fields of trade, industry,
tourism and culture between Gyeongnam and China, etc.

In addition to exchanging
the common issues that parties have concerned, the participants had opportunities
to meet with each other, share experiences and propose initiatives to improve
the efficiency of economic cooperation and development, network, and promote
the images of their cities. The session was wrapped up in the atmosphere of
friendship, cooperation and common prosperity of the region.
