On the morning of August 16, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Bank in Vietnam jointly organized the Seminar “Global Economic Outlook Update and Implications for Vietnam’s Economic Diplomacy”.

Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Department of Economic General Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang presided the Seminar. Attending the Seminar were more than 100 delegates. On the World Bank's side in Vietnam were Ms. Dorsati Madani – Senior Economist at the World Bank and a number of experts from the World Bank office in Hanoi. On the Vietnamese side, there were representatives and leaders of units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, departments and sectors in charge of economic diplomacy in 30 provinces and cities and representatives of a number of business associations. At the Dong Nai Province bridge point, Deputy Director of the External Relations Department Nguyen Viet Thang attended the Seminar online.
At the Seminar, World Bank experts in Vietnam gave a comprehensive and profound presentation on the world economic and Vietnam's economy outlook. For Vietnam, the decline in world demand and weaker domestic consumption caused economic growth to slow down in the first half of 2023. However, World Bank experts highly appreciated macroeconomic management. of the Government, especially effective control of inflation and flexible and timely management of fiscal and monetary policies.
The discussion contents of the Seminar were very practical, closely following local needs, especially solutions to promote public investment, mobilize external resources, green financial sources... The Seminar is a specific activity to deploy the motto of economic diplomacy with businesses and localities as the service center.
