The Dong Nai Department of Foreign Affairs is a specialized agency under the Provincial People’s Committee. It serves as an advisory body to help the Provincial People’s Committee perform state management functions regarding foreign affairs and national border territories within the province. These responsibilities include: political, economic, and cultural diplomacy; consular affairs; border and territorial management; management of foreign non-governmental organizations; foreign information services; and international cooperation for socio-economic development, as well as public services under the Department’s jurisdiction as prescribed by law.
 

Acting as a "bridge" between Dong Nai and international partners, the Department has proactively and effectively implemented foreign affairs activities, expanding cooperative relations with numerous foreign localities, organizations, and enterprises. Simultaneously, it has intensified the promotion of the province's image, potential, and advantages. External protocol activities and the management of outgoing and incoming delegations have been meticulously executed, contributing to the enhancement of Dong Nai’s prestige and position on the international stage.

Over the years, the Department of Foreign Affairs has coordinated closely with provincial departments, agencies, and local authorities to attract investment, promote cultural and educational exchanges, and expand scientific and technological cooperation. It has also ensured citizen protection and the timely handling of consular issues, safeguarding the legitimate rights of organizations and individuals.
