SEMINAR BETWEEN VIETNAM AMBASSADORS AND GENERAL CONSULS FOR THE TERM OF 2020 - 2023 AND LEADERS OF SOUTHERN PROVINCES

On September 24, 2020, at Becamex Binh Duong Hotel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province held a Seminar between the Vietnam Ambassadors and General Consuls in the foreign countries for the 2020-2023 term with leaders in the Southern region. The Seminar was hosted by Mr. Bui Thanh Son - Member of the Central Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Tran Van Nam - Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Dang Minh Khoi - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of People's Committee of Binh Duong.

Attending the Seminar were 27 Vietnam Ambassadors and General Consuls in the foreign countries for the 2020-2023 term; leaders and representatives of departments and sectors of 19 provinces and cities in the Southeast region and the Mekong River Delta. For Dong Nai Province were Mr. Tran Vu Hoai Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang - Deputy Director of External Relations Department, representatives of Tin Nghia Corporation, Cacao Trong Duc Company Limited, Nam Long Company Limited.

Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony of the Seminar, the Member of the Central Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that in recent years the country's foreign affairs have been actively, effectively and consistently implemented from central to local levels, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position, opening up new opportunities for cooperation, creating conditions for the country's socio-economic development as well as of all localities. The seminar is an opportunity for Southern localities to share their potentials and strengths; at the same time, proposing specific opinions and recommendations to overseas Vietnamese Ambassadors and Consulates General who are cadres with many years of experience in foreign affairs. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassadors and Consular General would have orientations on the action program close to the reality of the locality in the process of international cooperation, taking full advantage of the conditions and external resources to promote the local socio-economic development.

Mr. Tran Vu Hoai Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, on behalf of the leaders of Dong Nai Province, proposed Vietnam Ambassadors and Consulates to pay attention and support Dong Nai Province to connect information and strengthen effectiveness of cooperation in fields between Dong Nai Province and foreign localities signed cooperation in general and new partners such as Sverdlovsk Province, Russian Federation and Kampong Thom Province, the Kingdong of Cambodia expected in 2021; introducing the potential of the province to foreign partners and enterprises to explore and invest in new fields, especially cooperation in the field of 4.0 technology development, ecotourism; support and two-way information exchange to mobilize foreign enterprises to participate in foreign non-government programs and social activities in the province to contribute to the provincial economic development in the period of 2020-2025.

At the Seminar, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an MoU signing ceremony for a cooperation program with Becamex IDC (Investment And Industrial Development Corporation).
