​On the afternoon of April 2, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired online conference with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad on promoting economic diplomacy to serve national development in 2024.

The Conference was held directly at the Government Headquarters combined online with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and the People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities. Attending the Conference were: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies and Government agencies; Leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies; Chairman of the People's Committee, Leaders of centrally-run provinces and cities; Leaders of 94 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad; Leaders of business associations, export enterprises and Vietnamese enterprises abroad. On Dong Nai’s end were Vice Chairwoman of the DPPC Nguyen Thi Hoang and representatives of leaders of relevant departments and sectors.

The Conference thoroughly grasped the socio-economic development priorities for 2024, with a focus on orientations and solutions to renew traditional growth drivers (export, investment, consumption) and effectively exploit new growth drivers (green economy, digital economy, circular economy). Assessing the opportunities and challenges posed in the context of a potentially uncertain world economy, strong competition for resources, countries promoting transformation to restructure the economy towards a digital economy, green economy; Reviewed the implementation of upgraded relationship frameworks and propose solutions to accelerate and effectively take advantage of opportunities from new frameworks; Mobilizing resources from intellectuals and overseas Vietnamese businesses for socio-economic development.
