On January 17, 2020, at the Headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC), Mr. Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of the PPC and representatives of relevant departments and agencies received the Delegation of Kampong Thom Province, the Kingdom of Cambodia led by its Governor - Mr. Sok Lu visited and wished a Happy New Year to Dong Nai's leaders on the occasion of Vietnamese traditional New Year 2020.
At the meeting, Mr. Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of the PPC highly appreciated the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia and said that following that tradition, the Dong Nai Party Committee, authorities and people have built a good relationship with Kampong Thom Province. The two localities signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of cashew growing and processing (in 2009) and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Provincial Military Command and the Kampong Thom sub-sector force, Military Region 4 (in 2015). It was expected that in 2020, Dong Nai Province would sign a friendly cooperation with the Government of Kampong Thom Province in the fields of health, education, agriculture, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges.
Delivering his speech at the meeting, Mr. Sok Lu – Governor of Kampong Thom Province, the Kingdom of Cambodia hoped that the both sides would continue to maintain good friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive development cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and between Dong Nai and Cambodian localities in particular. Mr. Sok Lu also expressed his desire to promote further investment in economic development, such as industry, agriculture, education and health in Kampong Thom Province.

Mr. Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of DPPC also informed that Dong Nai Province would pay the working visit in the Kingdom of Cambodia on the occasion of traditional Cambodian New Year Chol Chnam Thmay in April, 2020. On this occasion the two sides would sign the MoU on cooperation between Dong Nai and Kampong Thom provinces.
